Med-Surge Instructor (Critical Care - Theory), Adjunct

Med‑Surge Instructor (Critical Care - Theory), Adjunct Responsibilities Deliver instruction according to an approved syllabus using effective teaching methods; develop daily lesson plans. Advise and tutor students, maintain accurate attendance and grade records. Stay current in the applicable teaching field and participate in faculty meetings, instructional seminars, and in‑service training sessions. Serve as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator. Focus on facilitating student learning to meet prescribed course and program outcomes. Actively participate in assessing student learning activities to maximize achievement of outcomes. Experience Required Minimum 3 years of occupational experience in the subject field or a closely related field. Direct patient care experience within the previous five years in the nursing area to which you will be assigned: One continuous full‑time year of direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated area, or One academic year of registered‑nurse‑level clinical teaching experience in the designated area demonstrating clinical competency. Completion of at least one year of teaching courses related to registered nursing, or completion of a post‑baccalaureate course that includes teaching practice. Demonstrated training in educational methods, testing and evaluation, with evidence of instructional proficiency within 30 days of starting instruction. Experience with online learning management systems desirable. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint). Education Minimum of a master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, education, or administration, or a degree in the natural, behavioral, or social sciences relevant to nursing practice. Licenses / Certifications Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in California. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation card. Salary USD $47.33 - $68.61 /hr.
