Job Description Employment Services Manager 1 (PCN 21-3035) located in Sitka, AK. This recruitment is exempt from the Hiring Freeze (Administrative Order 358). The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Employment and Training Services is recruiting for an Employment Services Manager 1. No cover letter required. This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at Range 16 and serves under the direct supervision of the Southeast Regional Manager (ESM 3) located at the Juneau Job Center. Responsibilities include managing the activities of the Sitka Job Center by providing outreach of employment and training services to the local and surrounding communities; planning, organizing, scheduling, and facilitating program functions; administering and managing federal and state entitlement and employment programs and services; supervising and managing program staff; coordinating program services with other public and private sector entities; promoting utilization and understanding of program services; and maintaining a viable workforce. Who We Are Looking For Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work. Creative Thinking: Uses imagination to develop new insights into situations and applies innovative solutions to problems; designs new methods where established methods and procedures are inapplicable or are unavailable. Client Engagement/Change Management: Knowledge of the impact of change on people, processes, procedures, leadership, and organizational culture; knowledge of change management principles, strategies, and techniques required for effectively planning, implementing, and evaluating change in the organization. The Working Environment You Can Expect The work week for this position is Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours per day on a work schedule determined between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm.
