Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel We are looking for Labor and Delivery RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Bend, OR. The right RN should have 3 years of recent acute care experience. L&D Travel Nurses provide care and support for women before, during, and after the delivery of a baby. They must ensure that the medical as well as emotional needs of their patients are met at all times throughout the birthing process. As an L&D RN, you will assist physicians with epidural and pain medication administration, episiotomies, and patient preparation for cesarean deliveries. Responsibilities Stay with and monitor the patient throughout labor. Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques. Check cervix periodically to monitor progression and lack of dilation. Ensure beds are kept clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids expelled before and after the birthing process. Aid the physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, and related items. Provide immediate care of the newborn.
