This position performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while responding promptly to service requests and operational emergencies.The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the high standards of quality, safety, and service associated with Hotel EMC2.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance & RepairsRespond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and engineering service calls.Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout guest rooms, public spaces, restaurants, and back-of-house areas.Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and other building systems within the scope of training and authorization.Perform general repairs involving painting, drywall, carpentry, fixtures, doors, locks, and other facility components.Assist with renovations, special projects, and property improvement initiatives as assigned.Maintain all hotel facilities and equipment in proper working condition while minimizing operational disruptions.Preventive Maintenance & InspectionsComplete scheduled preventive maintenance assignments in accordance with hotel standards.Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, mechanical areas, equipment, and building systems.Identify potential maintenance concerns and proactively recommend corrective actions.Maintain accurate records of inspections, completed work orders, and preventive maintenance activities.Ensure tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies are properly maintained, organized, and secured.Safety, Emergency Response & ComplianceAssist with the inspection and authorized testing of fire alarm, life safety, and emergency systems in accordance with applicable regulations and hotel procedures.Respond appropriately to maintenance emergencies to protect guests, associates, and hotel property.Immediately report safety hazards, equipment failures, and emergency situations to the Chief Engineer or management.Follow established safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.Maintain compliance with hotel policies, applicable building codes, and workplace safety requirements.Coordinate with licensed contractors or qualified service providers when specialized repairs are required.Operational Support & Guest ServicePrioritize maintenance issues that directly affect guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction.Communicate professionally with guests, associates, management, and outside vendors.Collaborate with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other departments to resolve maintenance concerns efficiently.Provide regular updates to the Chief Engineer regarding work orders, repairs, equipment conditions, and supply needs.Support energy conservation initiatives by monitoring utility usage and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.Assist with opening, closing, and other operational duties as assigned.Represent Hotel EMC2 professionally while consistently demonstrating the property's service standards and code of conduct.Qualifications & ExperienceRequired QualificationsGeneral knowledge of building maintenance, repair procedures, and safe equipment operation.Ability to troubleshoot maintenance concerns and perform basic repairs independently.Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced hospitality environment.Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with hotel departments.Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations as operationally necessary.Ability to understand and follow safety instructions, work orders, and emergency procedures.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in hotel, commercial building, or facilities maintenance.Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized work-order systems.Familiarity with hotel building systems, life safety procedures, and hospitality service standards.Relevant technical training, certifications, or trade experience.Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsThis position operates in an active, 24-hour hospitality environment and requires the ability to perform physically demanding maintenance duties.Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, climb, and crouch.Safely lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds independently, with heavier items handled using appropriate assistance or lifting equipment.Perform maintenance tasks in guest rooms, mechanical rooms, storage areas, and other designated hotel spaces.Safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.Work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, temperature changes, and mechanical equipment.Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.Reasonable
