We are seeking a Financial Strategy Analyst for our client, a growing organization in the transportation and logistics industry. The Financial Strategy Analyst will partner with teams across operations, sales, recruiting, maintenance, and technology to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, improve profitability, and support strategic business initiatives.

The Financial Strategy Analyst will analyze financial and operational performance, develop models and business cases, and provide data-driven recommendations to support growth, profitability, and operational excellence. This role will work closely with leaders across the organization to understand business challenges, identify solutions, and translate complex data into clear, practical insights.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analyze revenue, margin, profitability, and performance trends across business segments.
• Build financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate growth opportunities, operational changes, and capital investments.
• Identify financial risks, business opportunities, and performance drivers.
• Develop business cases and ROI analyses for key initiatives.
• Partner with leaders across operations, sales, recruiting, maintenance, and technology to understand challenges and recommend solutions.
• Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Develop KPI dashboards, reporting tools, and performance metrics to support business decision-making.
• Present findings, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Leverage data analysis tools to identify trends, improve reporting, and uncover business insights.
• Explore opportunities to automate reporting and decision-support processes.
• Stay current on AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies that can improve productivity and decision-making.
• Support the evaluation and implementation of AI-enabled solutions that create measurable business value.
• Challenge existing processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support cross-functional projects focused on growth, profitability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Help promote a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
• Ability to analyze financial and operational information and turn findings into actionable business recommendations.
• MUST currently live in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Not considering relocation candidates at this time.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in understanding how businesses operate and generate profitability.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to connect detailed analysis to broader business objectives.
• Ability to ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and turn ambiguity into practical recommendations.
• Confidence communicating with leaders at multiple levels of an organization.
• Sound business judgment with the ability to balance analytical rigor and real-world practicality.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools.
• Experience with financial modeling, business analytics, consulting, operations analysis, corporate strategy, or related work.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or other emerging technologies.
• Experience building dashboards, automation workflows, reporting tools, or decision-support resources.
• Interest in experimenting with new technology tools to improve productivity, reporting, and decision-making.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, supply chain, or a related industry is helpful but not required.
