About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 5x8 (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in relevant specialties License: Must have current and valid nursing license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BCLS) required Must-Have: Experience in circulating for General, Orthopedic, Robotic, Gynecological, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urological, Whipple procedures, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection within the last 3 years Charge nurse experience preferred Description: The role involves providing direct patient care in the operating room. The nurse will be responsible for circulating and assisting in various surgical procedures. Candidates should be proficient in operating room protocols and standards. The position requires participation in call rotations with a commitment of 40-60 hours of call in a six-week schedule. Travelers must be willing to float within the facility. The environment presents a daily census of 70-80 patients and includes a range of procedures. Interdisciplinary collaboration is essential for optimal patient outcomes. Candidates must have charting system experience, specifically with Epic. Travelers are expected to work charge if asked and should have scrub experience. All candidates should possess strong clinical skills and the ability to handle complex situations. The nursing role will also include maintaining infection control and adhering to safety protocols in the operating room. Experience with specialized equipment, such as the DaVinci XI Surgical System, is required.
