An opportunity is available for a Clinical Specialist Pharmacist with expertise in Oncology to support a leading non-profit health system serving a vibrant coastal community. This role offers a chance to advance oncology pharmacy services within both inpatient and outpatient infusion settings. The position emphasizes comprehensive clinical practice over staffing duties and values advanced clinical training and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver thorough medication management including lab test ordering, therapy selection, and adverse event management.
- Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, appropriate dosing, and patient safety.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment regimens, side effect management, and medication adherence.
- Collaborate closely with providers and nursing staff during clinical rounds to inform treatment decisions.
- Participate in clinical trials, oversee investigational drug use, and assist in developing institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- PharmD or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Eligibility to obtain a California pharmacist license.
- Completion of PGY2 residency or oncology fellowship, or PGY1 plus three years as a clinical oncology specialist, or a minimum of five years’ oncology clinical specialist experience.
- Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) is preferred but not mandatory.
