Job Title: CDL A Driver

Job Description

This position offers a regional CDL A driving opportunity with consistent home time every weekend. You will deliver materials to residential customers across a defined territory, handle touch freight by loading and unloading at delivery sites, and use a mobile application to manage routes and deliveries. The role requires strict adherence to INDOT regulations, safe driving practices, and professional customer communication while providing the option to earn additional income by working in the warehouse when route schedules allow.

Responsibilities

• Drive a CDL A truck to deliver materials to residential customers within the assigned territory east of the Mississippi River, excluding the Northeast.
• Load and unload materials at each delivery stop, performing all aspects of touch freight safely and efficiently.
• Complete approximately 5–20 delivery drops per week, depending on route details and customer demand.
• Use a phone-based app system to receive, track, and confirm deliveries, following all required procedures and documentation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers at delivery sites, providing a positive and respectful service experience.
• Follow all INDOT regulations related to hours of service, ensuring no more than 70 working hours per week.
• Operate the truck safely at all times, complying with traffic laws, company policies, and industry safety standards.
• Monitor delivery times and follow compensation guidelines, including hourly pay for deliveries that extend beyond two hours when applicable.
• Work in the warehouse on Thursdays or Fridays when home from the route, performing material handling and related tasks to earn additional hourly income if work hours are available.
• Maintain accurate records of hours, mileage, deliveries, and any required logs or reports.
• Inspect the vehicle regularly and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
• Coordinate with dispatch or operations to accommodate important life events around route schedules when possible.

Essential Skills

• Valid CDL A license.
• At least 1 year of CDL A driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs repeatedly and safely.
• Ability to perform loading and unloading of freight at delivery locations.
• Strong attention to detail when following routes, delivery instructions, and safety procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with residential customers.
• Ability to comply with all INDOT requirements, including hours-of-service regulations.
• Experience operating and maneuvering a truck safely in a variety of environments.
• Ability to use a phone app system for managing deliveries and route information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfort using a smartphone and mobile applications, with good overall technology skills.
• Previous experience with residential deliveries.
• Experience with warehouse work, loading, and unloading materials.
• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in meeting delivery schedules.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries across a weekly route.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Goshen, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
