Industrial Specialist IV – Furniture Factory Production Supervisor Stevenson Unit – Modular Furniture Factory (610729) Location : United States – Texas – Cuero Schedule : Full-time, Moderate travel, Non-exempt Salary : $4,291.51 monthly (RET 2.5% less) Job Summary Oversees the operation of the furniture factory, supervising inmates to ensure efficient production and quality standards. Works with minimal supervision and uses independent judgment. Essential Functions Oversee inmates in task performance, schedule operations, maintain machinery, conduct inspections, and assist with method and equipment use. Review raw material requirements, requisition supplies, machinery, and prepare invoices for distributed products. Prepare operational reports, track quality and quantity, and maintain training evaluations. Maintain tool, machinery, and equipment security; respond to emergencies; perform custodial support and aid inmate security. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Experience & Training Graduation from an accredited senior high school, GED, or equivalent. Eighteen months full-time experience in furniture/cabinet manufacturing, or three years full-time experience in any production or manufacturing operation. College credits may substitute for experience. Experience supervising inmates preferred. Correctional or law enforcement experience preferred. Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of quality control, production workflow, and agency policies. Knowledge of furniture manufacturing and repair preferred. Strong communication, coordination, rule interpretation, problem-solving, record-keeping, and inmate training skills. Proficiency with machinery and equipment in the area preferred. Additional Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to perform tasks such as walking, standing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, and lifting 15-44 lbs. Work environments include indoor, machinery, moving objects, radiation, noise, dust, heat, cold, humidity, and travel by vehicle or airplane. Use of computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines, hand tools, power tools, woodworking equipment, forklift, pallet jack, and vehicle.
