Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night Shift: 3x12.0

This is a 13-week contract position.

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in maintaining the quality of patient care through the effective utilization of the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, fostering a collaborative environment focused on delivering superior care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses in collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program by delivering direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information about changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, promoting a positive work environment.
• Assure safety compliance by following hospital and nursing policies.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Participate in team building activities and maintain effective communication regarding service needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to certain locations).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
• ICU experience and appropriate skills for LTACH settings.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is preferred.
