Provides medication-related information to physicians, staff, and the community. Serves as a liaison to assigned patient care areas with responsibility for outcomes, including patient satisfaction and quality measures. Mentors and educates pharmacy staff, residents, and students in area(s) of specialty. Coordinates delivery of pharmaceutical care within the assigned specialty by serving as the subject-matter expert for order sets, patient care protocols, policy development / revision, and multidisciplinary rounds. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from a recognized college or university; current NC pharmacy license required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred. Completion of an accredited PGY1 residency program or 5 years of equivalent clinical experience required; emergency medicine specialty residency preferred.Board certification is required within 12 months of hire. Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) is required after at least 6 months in the position with successful credentialing through the medical staff / NCBOP. Must meet ASHP preceptor criteria. Excellent communication and teaching skills. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology, procedures, and policies. Knowledge of quality measures. Considerable skill in performing pharmacy procedures; considerable ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members; BLS, ACLS, and PALS is required within 120 days of start, or the first available course offered by CaroMont, whichever occurs later.Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals.
