Human Resource Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist is an entry-to-mid-level HR professional responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department through recruiting, onboarding, HR administration, workforce analytics, employee engagement initiatives, HR projects, and process improvement efforts. Reporting directly to the HR Director, this position plays a key role in maintaining HR data integrity, generating workforce reporting, supporting strategic HR initiatives, and ensuring the efficient execution of HR programs. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for Human Resources. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with data, coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, and delivering accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position offers broad exposure to HR disciplines and provides a strong foundation for future career growth within Human Resources. Primary Responsibilities Assist with job postings and applicant tracking in ADP. Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications. Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate interviews. Coordinate pre-employment activities, including background checks, assessments, and onboarding requirements. Maintain recruiting and onboarding records, including time-to-fill, applicant flow, and source effectiveness. Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities. HR Projects & Process Improvement Assist with HR projects and initiatives related to employee engagement, retention, policy updates, workforce planning, and process improvements. Coordinate project timelines, action plans, and status updates. Support implementation of HR programs, technology enhancements, and process improvements. Participate in cross-functional projects and special assignments. Maintain project documentation and assist with tracking project progress and deliverables. Assist with employee engagement surveys, recognition programs, and action planning efforts. HR Analytics & Reporting Maintain HR data within ADP Workforce Now and other systems to ensure accuracy and integrity. Prepare routine and ad hoc reports related to headcount, turnover, attendance, recruiting, training, and workforce metrics. Analyze workforce data and identify trends for management review. Assist with dashboard development and maintenance, KPI tracking, and reporting initiatives. Support annual surveys, audits, compensation reviews, and workforce planning activities. Validate and audit HR data to ensure reporting accuracy. Employee Relations & HR Administration Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR programs. Support employee relations activities through documentation, meeting coordination, and recordkeeping as directed by the HR Director. Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives. Maintain employee records and personnel files in compliance with company requirements. Assist with policy communication, implementation, and acknowledgement tracking. Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information. Training & Employee Development Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities. Schedule employee training sessions and maintain training records. Monitor completion of required training programs and compliance requirements. Support employee development, leadership development, succession planning, and recognition initiatives. Assist with administration of learning and development programs. Compliance & Benefits Administration Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Support benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment activities. Assist with HR and benefits audits, documentation requests, and compliance reviews. Support payroll administration through employee data review, auditing, and record maintenance as needed. Assist with maintaining employee handbooks, policies, procedures, and compliance documentation. Support HRIS audits and system maintenance activities. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Analytics, or a related field required. Experience 0-3 years of Human Resources, business administration, project coordination, analytics, or related experience preferred. Experience in recruiting, HR administration, project coordination, or workforce analytics preferred. Internship or professional experience in Human Resources may be considered. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of Human Resources principles and employment practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, filtering, sorting, and data analysis. Ability to analyze data and translate findings into meaningful insights and reports. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Customer-service mindset with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
