Job Overview:
We are seeking an Estate Planning and Probate Associate Attorney to handle a variety of estate planning and probate matters. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of estate planning and probate law and the ability to manage complex cases effectively. This position offers a manageable workload and work-life balance in an office setting in downtown Longmont. Our tight-knit team of attorneys and staff works closely together and looks forward to welcoming another team member.
Duties:
- Manage estate and trust administration cases from inception to resolution.
- Draft and review legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on estate planning strategies and options.
- Conduct legal research on estate and trust law issues.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff members.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Colorado State Bar.
- 2-5 years of experience practicing estate planning, trust administration, and probate.
- Strong understanding of estate planning and probate law principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Residence in Longmont or nearby community.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of estate and trust administration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in legal document drafting.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive client relationships.
- Proficiency in legal research methods and resources.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with tax planning and wealth management strategies.
Experience with fiduciary income tax returns, individual income tax returns, gift tax returns, and estate tax returns.
