Role Description The Diesel Technician is a full-time, 2nd shift, on-site role based in Pendleton, IN, responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on medium, and heavy-duty trucks. Day-to-day tasks include conducting preventive maintenance services, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer and company standards. The role involves using diagnostic equipment, maintaining accurate repair documentation, and collaborating with service advisors and parts personnel to ensure efficient workflow. The Diesel Technician will communicate clearly with customers and team members regarding findings, recommended repairs, and timelines, while following all safety procedures and cleanliness standards in the service area. This position contributes directly to customer satisfaction by delivering timely, quality service and supporting the overall performance of the service department. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Diesel Maintenance & Repair skills for medium, and heavy-duty diesel trucks. Candidates should possess preventive maintenance skills, including inspections, fluid services, and scheduled component replacements. Candidates should possess troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain systems using diagnostic tools and manuals. Candidates should possess customer service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and a focus on timely, quality work. Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology or automotive repair is preferred. Experience working in a dealership, fleet, or commercial truck service environment is beneficial. Ability to read and interpret service manuals, repair orders, and technical bulletins is required.
