Registered Nurse - Telemetry & Pulmonary Step Down Unit
Location Overland Park, KS
Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule Shift: 7A - 7P
Job Description The Telemetry & Pulmonary Step Down Unit (Tele/Pulm) cares for patients with moderate physiologic instability requiring support. Examples of patient conditions include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients. The unit specializes in the care of cardiac and pulmonary patients requiring less care than the ICU but more than that provided in Medical/Surgical Units.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients with cardiac and respiratory issues.
- Administer oxygen therapy via various methods, including Nasal Cannula, BIPAP/CPAP, and AirVo.
- Conduct vital signs and neurological monitoring every 3-4 hours.
- Continuous cardiac monitoring and blood glucose monitoring.
- Collaborate as part of a team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must possess valid ACLS and BLS certifications.
- NIHSS certification is required.
- Must have a Registered Nurse (RN) license.
