Occupational Therapist (OT), Per Diem Weekend Shift, Acute Care Therapy

Job Overview Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an Occupational Therapist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. Responsibilities Perform an initial examination and evaluation to establish impairment/diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care for patients with basic rehabilitation needs in acute, outpatient or inpatient settings. Provide or direct and supervise therapy interventions consistent with examination results, engaging the patient, family and other team members in planning, implementation and assessment. Reevaluate patients as needed to monitor progress or change in status and modify or discontinue care accordingly. Plan for discharge in consultation with other disciplines, ensuring achievement of goals and arranging appropriate follow‑up or referral. Communicate, coordinate and document all aspects of patient management, including examination findings, care plans, interventions, barriers, progress and discharge decisions, and supervise assigned aides, assistants and volunteers. Manage schedule to cope with census and patient load, reporting any caseload issues to management. Attend team meetings and effectively communicate patient status. Engage in individual professional development activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Preferred 1‑year site‑specific experience. Active Maryland license and AHA HCP CPR; CLT certification from Klose or Norton for lymphedema therapists.
