Job Details Principal RF Systems/Hardware Engineer with ACTIVE TS/SCI with CI POLY. Location: Buckley, AFB, CO 80011. Duration: 12+ contract. Rate Range: $95/hr - $118/hr W2. No C2C, we cannot work with outside agencies/vendors, and 1099-US citizenship is required . Description The RF Systems/Hardware Engineer will troubleshoot, document, and resolve system outages and other issues encountered during operation. Responsibilities include collection of diagnostic data, accurate problem documentation in logging and discrepancy reporting tools, restoring system operation, developing workarounds, and other activities necessary for system recovery. The engineer will store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis and troubleshooting of system capabilities and requirements; use analytic devices such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers; monitor equipment functionality and implement modifications to ensure conformance with specifications; support the generation of concepts of operations and provide recommendations for system architecture. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and resolve system outages and issues; collect diagnostic data and document problems. Restore system operation and develop workarounds as needed to recover functionality. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis and troubleshooting. Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators for troubleshooting. Monitor equipment operation and implement modifications to meet specifications. Support generation of concepts of operations and provide recommendations for system architecture. Required Skills Must have at least 8 years of professional experience. Experience supporting Operations and Maintenance (O&M) RF ground systems engineering activities for a satellite communications system. Proficient use of spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes. Experience generating, analyzing, tracking, and managing requirements. Experience with RF systems engineering, developing and maintaining schematics, analysis, block diagrams, system BOMs, and design review packages. Support design performance and cost trade-off studies for proposed engineering changes. Ability to apply knowledge to develop new operational concepts and architecture; improve system efficiency. Flexibility for after-hours call-in support and occasional travel (CONUS/OCONUS). Ability to participate in emergency repair trips with little or no advance notice. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and document RF capability enhancements via white papers and submittals. Influence design performance and cost trade-offs for proposed changes; contribute to design teams with technical insight. Willingness to work at heights and complete antenna/tower safety requirements. Desired Skills Experience working with vendors for timely repair and tracking of critical hardware. Experience upgrading hardware supported by Windows and Linux systems. Experience with Linux-based systems. Education Bachelor Degree Required; BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
