Human Resources GeneralistThe Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day human resources operations for a manufacturing environment, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, HRIS administration, performance management support, training coordination, and HR projects. This role partners with production employees, supervisors, managers, and plant leadership to support a safe, compliant, and productive workplace. The Human Resources Generalist provides responsive service, helps ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices, and contributes to a positive employee experience in a fast-paced manufacturing operation.Essential FunctionsServe as a day-to-day HR contact for employees, supervisors and managers, responding to questions and escalating matters as appropriate.Post open positions, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, support candidate communications, complete background check processes, and assist with pre-employment requirements.Assist with development, maintenance, interpretation, and communication of human resource policies, procedures, handbook updates, and compliance programs.Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation, including safety, attendance, conduct, policies, and work rules.Partner with supervisors and managers on employee relations matters, performance management, corrective action, investigations, attendance concerns, and documentation.Support reasonable accommodation processes, and related employee communications.Assist with compliance tracking, workforce communications, employee engagement activities, and recognition programs for a multi-shift workforce.Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and personnel data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including status changes, job changes, and reporting.Support process improvement and HR projects that enhance efficiency, compliance, retention, and employee service.Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, safety expectations, and manufacturing workforce practices.Perform other duties as required.CompetenciesProficient verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively.Interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with production employees, supervisors, and managers.Attention to detail, organization, and follow-through in a compliance-driven environment.Ability to manage multiple priorities, urgent employee issues, and changing operational needs in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.Active listening, sound judgment, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.Foundational understanding of employee relations, employment law, HR compliance, attendance practices, wage and hour requirements, and HR best practices.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.Proficiency using Microsoft Office and human resource systems; Workday experience preferred.Physical DemandsOffice and manufacturing environment including moderate noise levels, production equipment areas, and required personal protective equipment where applicable. Frequent sitting, keyboard, mouse, and computer screen use for extended periods. Occasional standing, walking through production areas, and lifting of up to 15 pounds may be necessary.Percentage of Travel Required (If Applicable)Minimal travel required; approximately 1% or as needed.Required Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.One to five years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing, operations, industrial, or plant-based environment.Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR compliance, employee records, and HRIS data entry or reporting.Experience supporting non-exempt, or production workforces preferred.Foundational understanding of employment laws and regulations and related workplace compliance requirements.Familiarity with manufacturing safety practices, attendance policies, timekeeping processes, and employee relations documentation preferred.Additional Eligibility RequirementsThis position may work on projects that may require U.S. Permanent Residency or U.S. Citizenship.What We OfferSalary: The estimated base salary range for the position is $70,000-$90,000 (good faith estimate).
