About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help lead an enterprise migration from Alteryx Server to Alteryx Cloud .

In this role, you will take ownership of an Alteryx Cloud implementation that is already underway, quickly assess the current state, and drive the initiative through implementation, operational readiness, and knowledge transfer.

The ideal candidate combines deep Alteryx platform administration experience with strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networking, cloud architecture, Python, and CI/CD . You should have experience leading complex cloud or platform implementations in financial services or another highly regulated environment.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. Success requires someone who can independently solve problems, make progress through ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and coordinate across engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, risk, operations, and vendor teams.
Responsibilities

• Lead and advance the Alteryx Server-to-Alteryx Cloud migration , from the current proof-of-concept and implementation stage through production readiness and operationalization.
• Assess the current implementation, including previous decisions, technical requirements, open issues, dependencies, risks, and remaining deliverables.
• Define and drive the technical path from the existing Alteryx Server environment to the target Alteryx Cloud architecture.
• Partner directly with Alteryx , internal infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, risk, operations, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and implementation challenges.
• Design, review, and support cloud architecture within Google Cloud Platform , including VPC networking and secure cloud connectivity.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components, including routing, firewall rules, DNS, and connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments.
• Evaluate platform requirements involving identity and access management, SSO, SAML, OAuth, role-based access controls, APIs, and enterprise data connectivity.
• Support automation and engineering activities using Python, scripting, and CI/CD practices where applicable.
• Develop and maintain technical architecture documentation, implementation plans, migration plans, governance standards, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
• Establish a scalable operating model for platform administration, onboarding, governance, support, and ongoing maintenance.
• Identify roadblocks and dependencies and proactively drive issues toward resolution.
• Ensure solutions meet established security, governance, risk, compliance, audit, and change-management requirements.
• Lead technical conversations and translate complex infrastructure and platform requirements for both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Provide knowledge transfer to engineering, platform, and production support teams.
• Operate with a high degree of independence and accountability, with minimal day-to-day oversight.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, cloud engineering, analytics engineering, or enterprise technology implementation.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Alteryx , including experience with Alteryx Server, Alteryx Designer, and/or Alteryx Cloud/Alteryx One.
• Experience administering and supporting enterprise Alteryx Server environments , beyond developing individual Alteryx workflows.
• Experience implementing Alteryx Cloud or migrating enterprise workloads from Alteryx Server to Alteryx Cloud.
• Experience leading a cloud migration, enterprise SaaS implementation, or platform transformation from planning through operational readiness.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) .
• Experience with Google Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networking, administration, or implementation.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, security, routing, firewall rules, DNS, and secure cloud-to-on-premises connectivity.
• Experience with Python and scripting for engineering or automation use cases.
• Experience working with CI/CD processes and technologies.
• Experience with Windows Server environments.
• Experience integrating cloud or SaaS platforms with enterprise systems, APIs, and data sources.
• Knowledge of identity and access management, authentication, SSO, SAML, OAuth, and role-based access control.
• Experience creating technical architecture documentation, migration plans, governance frameworks, operational procedures, and support documentation.
• Experience using Jira within Agile and/or Kanban delivery environments.
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives and drive work to completion.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, technical documentation, and facilitation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within financial services, banking, or another highly regulated industry .
• Experience working within governance, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, audit, and change-control frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, SQL Server, Oracle, or Teradata .
• Experience establishing platform governance, onboarding processes, operational support models, or user enablement programs.
• Experience working directly with software vendors and third-party implementation partners.
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics, business intelligence, or data science platforms.
• Experience delivering technical training, knowledge-transfer sessions, office hours, or platform adoption programs.
• Alteryx Server certification or other relevant Alteryx credentials.

What We're Looking For

The strongest candidates will have demonstrated experience owning an enterprise cloud platform implementation from strategy through operationalization .

You should be able to provide examples of how you have:

• Led or played a significant technical leadership role in a cloud migration.
• Administered an enterprise Alteryx Server environment.
• Implemented Alteryx Cloud or a comparable enterprise SaaS/cloud platform.
• Worked hands-on with Google Cloud Platform and VPC networking.
• Navigated technical, security, infrastructure, and risk requirements simultaneously.
• Partnered directly with vendors and internal engineering teams to resolve implementation challenges.
• Taken ownership of ambiguous technical problems and independently driven them toward resolution.
• Transitioned an implemented platform into a sustainable production and support model.

Important Candidate Profile Distinction

This role is not primarily an Alteryx workflow development position .

We are specifically seeking candidates with Alteryx platform administration, cloud migration, infrastructure, and implementation experience . Candidates whose Alteryx background is limited to creating workflows are unlikely to be a strong fit.

Similarly, the role requires more than general cloud engineering expertise. The successful candidate will combine Alteryx platform depth, cloud infrastructure knowledge, technical leadership, and stakeholder-management skills .
