Vice Chair, Family Medicine

Northwell Health and the Department of Family Medicine are seeking a highly motivated and experienced physician leader to serve as a Part-Time Vice Chair of Family Medicine for Research and Clinical Trials . The Vice Chair will play a critical role in advancing the Family Medicine research portfolio, with a strategic focus on external grant funding, development of Family Medicine‑specific clinical trials, and mentorship of future investigators, while collaborating closely with residency programs, service line leadership, and system‑wide research partners.

Position Highlights Include:

• Lead the strategic growth of the Family Medicine research portfolio, including identification and pursuit of external funding opportunities.
• Develop and expand Family Medicine clinical trials (industry‑sponsored drug/device and/or investigator‑initiated), including identifying and mentoring Principal Investigators.
• Drive grant‑writing efforts with a focus on scaling from smaller awards to large, multi‑site, multi‑million‑dollar grants.
• Build sustainable research infrastructure in partnership with system research leaders, including pathways for future staffing/support as funding grows.
• Integrate research and scholarship into Family Medicine education by mentoring faculty and residents and supporting residency program initiatives.

Full‑time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience, and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
