Academica California serves the boards and schools operating throughout the state. What You'll Do Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports. Analyze financial results and provide insights to school leadership and governing boards. Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable reporting requirements. Client & Board Support Assist in preparation for governing board meetings and present as needed. Build strong relationships with board members, school administrators, and office managers. Accounting Operations Support month‑end and year‑end close processes. Prepare and reconcile all balance sheet accounts. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis. Audit & Compliance Work with the Director, Accounting, to ensure prompt completion of annual audits. Assist with financial compliance, reporting requirements, and special projects. Help strengthen internal controls and accounting processes. Leadership & Development Provide training and support to school office managers and staff. Participate in process improvement initiatives and team development. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. What You Bring Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles. Experience with GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Preferred CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification. Experience with nonprofit or educational organizations. Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership or governing boards. What We Offer Competitive base salary of $85,000 - $95,000, based on experience and credentials.
