This position offers a balanced clinical practice combining outpatient Pulmonary Medicine, minor pulmonary procedures, and ICU/inpatient consultation. The physician will work closely with primary care physicians, Hospitalists, intensivists, nursing staff, and specialists while helping grow pulmonary and critical care services throughout the region.Position Highlights Full-time, permanent Pulmonology opportunity Primarily outpatient Pulmonary Medicine Provide inpatient and ICU pulmonary consultation Broad range of pulmonary and respiratory conditions Perform minor pulmonary procedures consistent with training and privileges Participate in an equitable inpatient and ICU call schedule Opportunity to build and grow a Pulmonary Medicine practice Collaborative community hospital environment Established multidisciplinary medical team Strong clinical and administrative support Opportunity to contribute to the continued development of pulmonary and critical care servicesClinical Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic pulmonary conditions Manage patients with: COPD Asthma Interstitial lung disease Pulmonary nodules Chronic cough Sleep-related respiratory disorders Other pulmonary and respiratory conditions Develop individualized treatment and follow-up plans Interpret pulmonary diagnostic studies and medical imaging Coordinate care with referring physicians and specialists Perform or coordinate appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures Provide consultation and management for ICU patients with acute respiratory failure and other critical pulmonary conditions Collaborate with Hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists Assist with transitions of care between the ICU, inpatient units, and outpatient settingCompensation & Benefits Competitive physician compensation Comprehensive benefits package Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications Supportive clinical and administrative infrastructure Professional growth opportunities Opportunity to develop a long-term Pulmonary Medicine practice within an established regional health systemQualifications MD or DO Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease Critical Care Medicine training, certification, or significant ICU experience preferred Current or eligible unrestricted New York medical license Eligible for hospital medical staff appointment and clinical privileges Experience performing minor pulmonary procedures Comfortable balancing outpatient Pulmonology with inpatient and ICU responsibilities Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based medicine Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skillsAbout Hudson & the Hudson ValleyHudson is a vibrant and historic community in New York's scenic Hudson Valley, offering an attractive combination of culture, outdoor recreation, dining, and small-town character.
