Electrical Engineer

Title: Electrical Engineer Location: Batesville, IN Duration: 03 Months Work Arrangement: Hybrid Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote Initial Requirement: First 1-2 weeks will require onsite work Position Summary The Electrical Engineer will serve as the technical lead in product development activities related to electronic end-of-life activities. This role will develop solutions to routine technical problems associated with current product designs and coordinate with suppliers and external resources needed to develop and implement updates to existing designs while maintaining existing functionality. The Electrical Engineer will liaise with external contractors and Operations teams to develop additional capabilities for existing technology and product improvements. The role will function within a team environment, provide clear feedback to the supervisor and department, and work with multifunctional teams to deliver Voice of Business and project requirements. Key Responsibilities Serve as the technical lead in product development activities for electronic end-of-life activities. Develop solutions to routine technical problems associated with current product designs. Coordinate with suppliers and external resources needed to develop and implement updates to existing designs while maintaining existing functionality. Liaise with external contractors and Operations teams to develop additional capability for existing technology and product improvements. Function within a team environment and provide clear feedback to the supervisor and department. Work with multifunctional teams to deliver Voice of Business and project requirements. Demonstrate proficiency in Medical Device design controls and provide guidance to team members. Prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Utilize engineering tools to solve straightforward problems, such as Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Study and recommend techniques to improve existing products. Help determine verification testing and other product tests to assure product design. Required Knowledge and Experience Working understanding of good practices in the area of design controls, including FDA 21 CFR 820.30 and Subclause 4.4 of ISO 9001. Working understanding of IEC 60601-1, Medical Electrical Equipment - Part 1: General Requirements for Basic Safety and Essential Performance. Experience with the development and verification of electronic medical equipment with embedded firmware. Solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures. Ability to effectively operate in and facilitate cross-functional teams with guidance. Ability to provide solutions that reflect an understanding of business objectives and cost implications. Strong communication skills. Ability to work well as a leader/member of cross-functional teams. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology. Electrical Engineering preferred. Five to ten years of experience in a design and/or development setting at a medical device company. Experience with Medical Device design controls. Previous operational experience supporting New Product Development is preferred. Product development experience in the medical device industry.
