Essential Functions & Responsibilities As part of our engineering team, you'll contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of our software platform while continuing to expand your technical skills. Develop and maintain software using Java, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript. Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement new features. Evaluate enhancement requests and help identify technical solutions. Contribute to automated testing and overall software quality. Maintain technical documentation and coding standards. Learn and apply modern development tools, frameworks, and best practices. Participate in troubleshooting, upgrades, and continuous product improvement initiatives. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree, coding bootcamp completion, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Foundational understanding of object-oriented programming using Java. Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring Framework, Hibernate / JPA. Awareness of servlet containers such as Jetty. Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle. Working knowledge of Git version control. Experience using IntelliJ IDEA. Familiarity with SQL databases, including writing SQL queries, JDBC connectivity, ORM-based data access. Understanding of object-oriented, component-oriented, and service-oriented design principles. Exposure to GWT / SmartGWT is a plus. We currently use SmartGWT Enterprise 14.1 and welcome interest in both frontend and backend development.
