Job Description

Cardinal Staffing Services is hiring an Overhead Crane Operator for a large, well-known client in Northwood, OH.
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Overhead Crane Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment. This position involves operating overhead cranes to safely move, position, and load heavy materials and products throughout the facility. The ideal candidate has previous overhead crane experience, understands proper rigging and lifting procedures, and is comfortable working in a hands-on, physically demanding environment.

Available shift:

• 1st Shift - 5:00 AM start
• 8-10 hour shifts

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate overhead cranes to move and position heavy materials and products
• Inspect crane equipment, hooks, chains, slings, and other lifting equipment before use
• Properly secure and rig materials for lifting
• Follow all safety procedures and proper lifting techniques
• Read and follow work instructions, measurements, and blueprints
• Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and positioning materials
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and other crane operators during lifts
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and ensure a safe work area
• Perform general production and material-handling duties as needed
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous overhead crane experience required
• Experience with rigging, slings, chains, hooks, or other lifting equipment preferred
• Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials
• Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Comfortable working in a dirty, industrial, and physically demanding environment
• Ability to read basic blueprints, measurements, and work instructions preferred
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Must be willing to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed
• Steel-toed work boots and hard hat required
• Construction, concrete, manufacturing, or material-handling experience is a plus
• Must be trainable and willing to learn new skills
• Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining a strong focus on safety
