Hospitals, hotels, schools, bridges, airports and more.****Come build a career you believe in.****About the Role**Reporting to the Plant Manager, the **Slitter Machine Operator** will be responsible for setting up and operating high-speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to specified dimensions and specifications. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.**Shift:** 3rd Shift - 7 PM to 5:30 AM**What You’ll Do*** Observes all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively.* Performs advanced setup and calibration of all equipment.* Inspects materials for quality issues before, during, and after production.* Records and reports any deficiencies in quality to the supervisor/quality department.* Maintains equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion.* Diagnoses equipment and quality problems while minimizing scrap and delays.* Completes reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material.* Assists maintenance in repairs and preventive maintenance of equipment.* Participates in continuous improvement programs.* Performs housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and safe.* Performs other duties as assigned by management.**Who You Are*** Ability to read and write and maintain production records and logs.* Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.* Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, decimals, and fractions.* Experience with measuring devices such as tape measure, micrometers, and calipers.* Ability to operate forklift, crane, and other necessary equipment.* Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.* Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is required.* Leads and promotes health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.**Physical Abilities*** Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.* Requires constant movement, manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.* Ability to remain in a stationary position for several hours.* Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull.* Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.* Must be able to stand for 10–12 hours.* Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment.**What You’ll Get**Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental coverage.
