Speech Language Pathologist

Speech Language Pathologist Greenbrier School District, Greenbrier, Arkansas. Job Summary Provides speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders. Plans and implements individualized therapy, assessments, IEP planning, and related documentation. Responsibilities Conduct assessments and evaluations of students with speech or language disorders. Provide individualized and group therapy based on IEP goals. Track student progress, update therapy plans, and make determinations of service levels. Participate in Individualized Education Plan meetings, providing data interpretation and placement recommendations. Consult with teachers, aides, parents, and other professionals to support student communication goals. Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate communication skill activities. Offer professional development to staff on working with communication‑deficit students. Maintain records of assessments, therapy sessions, progress notes, and compliance with legal and district policies. Participate in program evaluation, equipment selection, and continuing education. Supervise licensed speech‑language assistants or aides as required. Essential Functions Provide quality school‑based speech therapy, including assessment, intervention, IEP implementation, discharge planning, and documentation. Manage student behavior and ensure a least‑restrictive environment. Demonstrate advanced strategies for students with autism, developmental delay, learning disabilities, or behavior disorders. Maintain time‑management, attention to detail, and independence. Uphold high professional and ethical standards. Special Knowledge/Skills Use standardized tests and measurements for communication disorders. Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech‑language disorders. Ability to instruct and manage student behavior. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Qualifications Valid Arkansas Board of Examiners in Speech‑Language Pathology and Audiology license. Valid Arkansas Department of Education teacher license or willingness to obtain. Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited institution. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency. Current Medicaid number, NPI number, and Professional Licensure from ASHA. 1–2 years of experience in a school setting preferred. Citizenship, residency, or work visa status. Physical / Environmental Demands Frequent sitting, kneeling, bending, walking, and light lifting (under 15 pounds); occasional heavier lifting and positioning of disabled students. Exposure to biological hazards, potential travel, and work with frequent interruptions.
