• Case Mix: Primarily Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) for ophthalmic procedures.
• Autonomy: High level of independent practice.
• Schedule: Typical daytime hours; Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide and manage anesthesia care for a variety of ophthalmology procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments and develop individualized anesthetic plans.
• Monitor vital signs and manage anesthetic depth to ensure patient safety and surgeon satisfaction.
• Oversee post-operative recovery and manage discharge criteria.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic anesthesia records.
• Collaborate effectively with the surgical and nursing teams to ensure efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted license as an RN and CRNA in the state of Virginia (or eligibility for licensure).
• Certification by the NBCRNA .
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and make independent clinical decisions.
• Previous experience in ophthalmic anesthesia or outpatient surgical settings is preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Insurance Requirement: The CRNA must provide and maintain their own malpractice insurance (1099 status).
