Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse for an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced surgical environment. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team during open heart surgeries.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the RN circulator for open heart surgeries, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other surgical team members to deliver exceptional care.
• Maintain a sterile environment and assist in all aspects of surgical procedures.
• Monitor patient status throughout the surgical process and respond appropriately to any changes.
• Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Indiana.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in open heart surgery required.
• Experience in additional surgical specialties such as Orthopedic, Neurology, Da Vinci Robotics, General Surgery, Gynecology, and Podiatry is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with team members.

Scheduling and Work Environment

This position will require day shifts, with specified working hours from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM. Call requirements for weeknights and weekends are an essential part of the role. There are no floating or block scheduling requirements for this position.

Patient Care and Unit Information

The patient ratio is 1:1, ensuring a focused environment where the staff can provide personalized care and attention.

Orientation and Duration

The position includes orientation on designated dates, with a commitment to a 13-week duration.
