Youth Care Specialist

Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. Our values are Excellence, Innovation, Commitment, Caring, and Integrity. What will you do as a Youth Care Specialist for our youth residential programs? Provide supervision, support, guidance, and build therapeutic relationships with youth under your care. Engage with youth, provide direction, structure and support for their physical and physiological needs; schedule and participate in activities; keep the physical environment clean and safe; complete daily documentation as required by regulatory standards; transport clients to appointments and activities as needed. Travel to various residential facilities within the Nashville area may be required. Work a rotating schedule (see below). Working Hours and Schedule Shift: 1st Shift – 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. or 2nd Shift – 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday What does this position offer? (Full‑time only) Starting pay range: $18.50 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience. Full‑time benefits. Three weeks paid time off in the first year plus ten paid holidays. Requirements Valid driver’s license and meet any credentialing, licensing and privileging standards related to the program. High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum one year of experience working in a residential youth or adult operation, or related child and family services experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. At least 21 years old.
