Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing homemade sauces, aiolis, dressings, pickling vegetables, and preparing ingredients in our scratch kitchen that meet our high standards for quality and presentation. This role requires attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. Our kitchen, when open to the public is an partially outdoors with heaters during the winter season and is enclosed where prep work is done. You will work directly with our head Chef.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all prep items are prepared according to our recipes.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and labeled and properly stored, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, mincing, vegetables, preparing sauces, and assembling pizza toppings into their appropriate containers.
- Knife skills are a must!
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including prep stations and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for restocking and reordering to chef.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a prep cook.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with fine dining standards is a plus and the ability to maintain high-quality standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and the ability to accommodate special requests is desirable.
- A passion for excellence of the quality of prepared items.
- Must possess valid food handling certification or be willing to obtain one.
