Role US Territory Sales Manager – California Location Sacramento, California; Any location within California. Description We are seeking an experienced Territory Sales Manager to establish and accelerate the growth of Zehnder and Lifebreath ventilation products throughout California. This is a market‑building role requiring an entrepreneurial sales leader with an established California network who can develop new distribution channels, secure builder programs, influence project specifications and grow market share against established competitors. Expertise in residential HVAC, IAQ or ventilation and California residential construction is essential. The Territory Manager is the primary contact for current and potential customers and is accountable for our reputation. This position will have significant travel as determined by demand and opportunity for new business. Demands can change based on company goals and market dynamics. The ideal candidate will be located in California. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support California market development from the ground up. Develop builder programs with production, semi‑custom and luxury builders. Drive specifications with architects, MEP engineers, HERS raters and Passive House consultants. Expand multifamily and luxury residential opportunities. Recruit strategic distribution partners. Compete successfully against incumbent ventilation brands. Strong product knowledge, serving as an expert on the features, benefits, and technical specifications of the manufacturer’s HVAC product lines. Pre‑existing contacts in California, that the incumbent can be leveraged quickly for business growth. Collaborate with marketing to implement effective sales campaigns to generate sales from new and existing customers, ensure all sales goals/targets are met. KPIs would include Revenue growth, new reps / distributors, builder programs, specifications won and forecast accuracy Maintain accurate customer records using the company's CRM system and provide timely territory reports, sales forecasts, expense reports, and customer activity updates. Expected travel (approximately 50-70%) will be determined by demand and opportunity for new business. Qualifications / Skills / Experience University degree in business or engineering preferred, combined with 5+ years of residential HVAC/IAQ sales. Demonstrated knowledge of California Title 24 requirements, HERS verification, residential energy codes, and indoor air quality standard. Experience with specification selling. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence people in their opinions, attitudes or judgement about the company’s products. Excellent negotiation, communication, time‑management, and presentation abilities. Previous experience increasing both sales and gross margin within multiple organizations must be able to illustrate previous state, milestones, KPIs, tactics, learning, results, new targets. Subject to all types of deadlines, both regular and predictable and those resulting from special requests or during peak periods; must be able to respond in a timely fashion to customer requests/demands and to internally determined requirements. Driving automobile for local and long‑distance sales calls (distance and time varies considerably from week to week). Creative abilities are important in the sales function, especially in attracting new customers. Ability to interpret financial and sales data and financial statements, calculation of gross margin, analyze which sales /marketing techniques are most effective and why. Why Join Us? It is one component of our overall selection process and is considered together with interviews, experience, and other hiring criteria.
