Postdoctoral Research Associate

Seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate in evolutionary and conservation genomics, the full-time position will involve analyzing genomic data from both modern and historical datasets to assess hybridization patterns among canid species, with opportunities for mentorship and collaboration in a hybrid work environment based in Houston. Key responsibilities Design and conduct research in evolutionary and population genomics using large whole genome datasets Analyze genomic datasets, prepare manuscripts for publication, and present findings at scientific conferences Mentor and train junior research team members in computational and genomic research methods Required qualifications Ph.D. in evolutionary biology, genomics, ecology, genetics, or a related field by the start date Research background in population genomics, evolutionary genomics, or conservation genomics Experience analyzing large-scale genomic datasets and proficiency with computational methods using R on Linux/Unix Knowledge of population genetic and evolutionary theory as applied to genomic data Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment Virtual Vocations Inc
