Home Infusion Nurse - Partner with Patients. Practice with Purpose. As a Home Infusion Nurse, you’ll provide one‑on‑one, skilled clinical care to patients in the comfort of their homes or an ambulatory infusion suite. In This Role, You Will: Learn more about our Home Infusion Pharmacy: Optum Infusion Pharmacy Work an average of 30-40 hours per week Travel within the Lawrence, Topeka, and Overland Park area to deliver care at patient homes or designated sites. Key Responsibilities Travel to patient homes and related sites using a personal or rental vehicle in accordance with company travel policies. Provide safe and compliant infusion services in accordance with Optum Infusion Pharmacy policies, protocols, and physician orders. Establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers, including education on self‑care and self‑administration. Assess patient suitability for home infusion therapy, including home safety, caregiver support, and patient independence. Obtain and maintain accurate patient medical histories, clinical assessments, and all required documentation, including plans of care, visit notes, medication profiles, and discharge summaries. Deliver skilled nursing care across a range of patient ages and conditions based on physician orders and treatment plans. Establish, access, and maintain vascular devices, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, tunneled catheters, and implanted ports. Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including managing infusion reactions, vital signs, side effects, and lab collection. Communicate patient status and therapy response promptly with physicians, pharmacists, supervisors, and other care team members. Required Qualifications Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas. Current BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross, or willingness to obtain prior to start. One or more years of RN experience in a clinical setting supporting infusion or IV therapy (e.g., ICU, Med‑Surg, ED, PACU). Ability to work independently with strong clinical judgment and effective interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to cover an 80‑mile service radius while working 30‑40 hours per week. Preferred Qualifications Previous home infusion experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and EMR platforms. Knowledge of Infusion Nursing Society (INS) standards. Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and home infusion accreditation guidelines. Strong communication, organization, critical‑thinking, and teaching skills. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full‑time employment.
