Senior Software Engineer – Innovation Join Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology to design architectures, develop production‑grade software and drive innovation across Disney’s media businesses. Responsibilities Design prototypes and tools supporting Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology. Research best approaches and architectures to solve interesting and unique problems facing Disney’s businesses. Identify elegant solutions to complex and unique problems. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field. 5+ years of experience in technical fields. Hands‑on experience with machine learning methods and techniques. Experience building and maintaining production‑grade software. Experience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools in a safe, responsible, and effective manner. Experience with effective API integration and design. Demonstrated ownership and responsibility for the development, implementation, and release of the software lifecycle. Experience with defensive application design and understanding of cybersecurity best practices. Excellent technical communication skills and attention to detail. Curiosity and a desire to learn. Experience in native application development, API integration, user experience design, version control, and continuous integration is desired. Preferred Qualifications Experience with audio/video processing and analysis. Experience with real‑time updates and event‑driven architectures. Hands‑on experience with AWS services like Kinesis, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Lambda, S3, ECS, Aurora, and Bedrock. Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript development, including production use in back‑end RESTful APIs and front‑end web applications. Experience with native mobile application development for iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin). Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation. Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Datadog. Workflow implementation centered on real‑time updates and event‑driven architectures. Compensation The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $148,700 to $199,400 per year and in Los Angeles, CA and Bristol, CT is $141,900 to $190,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on candidate’s geographical region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
