Behavioral Health Services has a multidisciplinary team that works hard to bring innovative and creative experiences to the clients in their care, and to provide compassionate and individualized treatment. About the Job – Your RoleAs our Behavior Health Manager 1, you will oversee the operations of a co-occurring disorders (COD) treatment program in our minimum custody facility including program implementation, development of policy and procedures, program management, staff meetings, individual and group supervisory sessions, ongoing staff training, multidisciplinary teamwork, and delivery of treatment services. You will supervise addiction treatment counseling staff and the provision of care to adults in custody (AICs) who have a co-occurring mental health disorder and substance use disorder. In addition, you will evaluate the quality of program and treatment services, maintain integrity of departmental clinical practices, maintain compliance with statutes, rules and regulations, develop work procedures, establish work schedules, monitor work performance, and track program data. You will also be responsible for direct provision of care to clients, including comprehensive assessment, individualized counseling, and group facilitation.The BHS Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment Program Manager has contact with all levels of institution staff, as well as other agencies, individuals and groups that interface with the ODOC. This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.Minimum QualificationsPossession of a clinical license or certificate of mental health and addiction treatment AND two years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience.ORA master’s degree in a related field AND one year of lead work or supervising mental health services that include mental health assessment and diagnosis.ADDITIONAL SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS to be eligible for this position:Credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) with the Mental Health and Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO), or are able to be credentialed as a QMHA (criteria listed below):Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral sciences field; ORA combination of at least 3 years of relevant work, education, training, or experience; ANDDemonstrate the competency necessary to communicate effectively; understand mental health assessment, treatment, and service terminology, and apply these concepts; provide psychosocial skills development; implement interventions as assigned on an individual plan of care; and provide behavior management and case management duties.ANDCredentialed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor 2 (CADC-II) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor 3 (CADC-III) with MHACBO.ANDTwo (2) years listed from the minimum qualification above must be in supervision and management of an addictions or mental health program section, or unit which includes: a) staff supervision, b) development of program rules and policies, and c) development of long- and short-range goals and plans.ORA master’s degree in a behavioral health field AND 1 year of lead work supervising addiction or mental health treatment services, including assessment and diagnosis.
