Summary The Groundhand position is an entry-level position in the construction, maintenance, and repair of distribution facilities of all types. This is the first step in learning the skills of a Lineman. Will be learning safety procedures, stocking trucks, and assisting crew members.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Shall not work on any energized lines and/or equipment.
- Provide assistance to the crew in completion of their duties.
- Learn the basic materials and equipment used in line construction.
- Learn about safety procedures and work area protection.
- Maintain cleanliness of the job site and equipment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and abilities by participating in continuing education activities.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Education & Experience
- General knowledge of electric services is great.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- CDL class A license preferred; must acquire CDL beginners permit within 60 days.
- Complete OSHA 10 hr Safety Training Program within 90 days.
- Ability and desire to learn the necessary skills of a Lineman.
- Ability to read and understand minimum approach distances.
- Commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first.

- Working Conditions
- Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions and confined space.
- All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English.
- Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling.
- Work is performed within the "red zone" of heavy equipment.
- Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Requirements
- Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
- Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
- Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record is required.
- Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as dictated by position.

- Travel required . Ability to work on-call, irregular hours, and emergency response.
