Senior Cost Analyst

Position Summary The Senior Cost Analyst plays a critical role in supporting both Finance and Operations by delivering accurate inventory costing, insightful analysis, and continuous process improvements. This is an opportunity for an experienced cost or operations finance professional who enjoys working cross‑functionally, leveraging data, and improving processes through automation and modern analytical tools. Location and Travel Requirements This position operates under a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with Wednesday and Friday designated as remote workdays. While this schedule is typical, team or business needs may require additional onsite days. Corporate Office Location Update: Currently, the Daisy Brand corporate office is located in Dallas, TX at 635 and 75. Anticipated September 2027, we will be moving to the Granite Park business complex in North Plano (intersection of Dallas North Tollway and Sam Rayburn Tollway). Key Responsibilities Financial Costing and Analysis Support maintenance and evaluation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and cost standards in alignment with corporate policies and production processes Analyze purchase prices, cost variances, and trends to identify drivers and improvement opportunities Assist with month‑end close activities, including journal entries and inventory reconciliation, ensuring inventory valuation is accurate and timely Analyze inventory losses and partner with Operations to identify root causes Maintain inventory costing methodologies and conversion cost drivers Support data accuracy and enhancements within the ERP environment (Microsoft Dynamics365), including expansion of reporting and system capabilities Assist with budgeting and forecasting of inventory-related expenses Partner with Operations to support performance objectives and decision‑making Inventory Processes and Procedures Provide support in documenting internal controls, policies, and procedures for inventory Assist in validating that policies and procedures are being followed Build strong knowledge of the D365 framework and related data integration points with MES Ad‑hoc Analysis Provide reporting and analysis related to inventory, cost of goods manufactured (COGM), and cost of goods sold (COGS) Assist Operations as needed, providing analysis and insights to support improved business decisions Cross‑train on financial analyst duties to serve as backup as needed Other duties as assigned. Qualifications And Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline from an accredited college Minimum of 5 years of work experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within a manufacturing or inventory-intensive environment Experience with Microsoft Dynamics365 is preferred Experience with PowerBI and PowerAutomate is a plus Experience with OfficeScripts, VBA, and/or macros is a plus Skills and Competencies Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, nested formulas, and advanced functions Interest in applying automation, data, and AI‑enabled tools to improve efficiency and insights Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization Strong organizational and analytical skills Company Overview Daisy Brand is the market leader in two billion‑dollar categories – sour cream and cottage cheese.
