Robotic Controls Technician

Kforce has a client in Austin, TX that is seeking a Robotic Controls Technician. Position Overview: The Controls Technician will support commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PLC-controlled automation systems within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses heavily on hands-on electrical work, PLC interaction, and production-floor automation support. Key Responsibilities:
- Commission I/O systems, safety devices, and automation equipment
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, and electrical systems (24VDC-480VAC)
- Support automated systems including conveyors, robotics, and mobile automation equipment
- Perform basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, Profinet)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC/HMI logic
- Assist with integration and system handshakes across automated equipment
- Partner with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve system issues
- Follow strict electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures
- 2+ years of experience in automation, controls, or a manufacturing environment (recent grads)
- Strong electrical troubleshooting background (low-to-high voltage systems)
- Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI systems (Siemens preferred)
- Motor controls and VFDs
- Industrial troubleshooting
