Summer Seasonal Grounds Maintenance

Seasonal position with the City of Beloit, WI. Wages range from $17.00 to $18.00 hourly depending on experience. Work sites include various locations in Beloit, WI.

Summary of Job

Position available from May through August and April through October, with variable hours approximately 30-40 hours per week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist with grounds maintenance work which includes mowing, weeding, line trimming, planting flowers, litter/debris pick-up, painting, event set-up/take-down, tree/bush trimming, cleaning bathrooms, watering plants/trees, cemetery care, and operation of various equipment including hand tools, chippers, tractors, bark blower, auger, rotary tiller, sod cutter, and hedge trimmer. Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include being 18 years of age, possessing a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, high school diploma or equivalent, and obtaining an ATV/UTV license within one month of hire. Experience in grounds and landscape maintenance and equipment care is preferred. Must be creative, enthusiastic, highly organized, motivated, dependable, patient, and able to maintain discipline. Must follow directions, learn new skills, and possess good written and verbal communication skills.
