A Grinder/Utility Worker in a plastic manufacturing company operates granulator or grinding machinery to recycle plastic scrap, trims and finishes plastic parts using hand tools, and performs general plant labor to support continuous production and material handling.Job Summary & Core Responsibilities

• Plastic Grinding & Recycling: Feed plastic scrap, purges, and defective parts into granulators/grinders to break them down into reusable regrind material.
• Material Sorting & Inspection: Sort plastic scrap by type, color, and grade to prevent contamination; weigh and log recycled materials.
• Finishing & Trimming: Use hand tools, power tools, or knives to remove flash, burrs, and surface defects from molded or extruded plastic parts.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean grinder blades, clear jams, perform minor machine upkeep, and inspect machinery for safe operation.
• Utility / General Labor: Assist machine operators, move raw materials or finished goods, build boxes/skids, and maintain plant cleanliness.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Entry-level or 6+ months of general manufacturing/production experience.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, and lift up to 50–75 lbs.
• Skills: Basic math, good communication, ability to follow safety rules, and willingness to wear required PPE (earplugs, safety glasses) in a noisy environment.
• Certifications: Forklift certification or willingness to be trained on material handling equipment.
