Are you a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with numbers and helping leaders make informed financial decisions? Join the Finance and Budget team as a Budget Analyst. In this role, you will partner with campus departments to support financial planning, resolve complex issues, and provide information that helps ensure effective budget management. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys analytical work, cross-campus collaboration, and making a meaningful impact on University operations. The Budget Department provides university-wide budget planning, analysis, and financial support to promote informed decision-making and effective stewardship of university resources. This position is located in Brookings , South Dakota. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Job Responsibilities: The Budget Analyst supports the management of the University operating budget through the analysis and administration of personnel actions, financial data, and budget activity. The position applies knowledge of Banner finance, human resources/payroll processes, fund accounting, and University processes to evaluate complex transactions, maintain accurate financial information, develop decision-support reporting, and assist campus departments. The work requires substantial analysis, independent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve financial and system-related issues. Benefits : SDState offers a wide range of excellent benefits including medical, dental, and flexible benefits, retirement plans, compensation packages, paid holidays, and vacation leave. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Employees also have access to internal and state-sponsored training as well as reduced tuition for state-supported courses at all State of South Dakota academic institutions. Relocation benefits are available per university's guidelines.

- Budgeting, finance, accounting and/or business functions
- Demonstrate advanced computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products or other related software
- Strong analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication and the ability to work with others
- Deliver high-quality customer service while maintaining professionalism and responsiveness
- Interpret and apply policies, procedures, and university practices to complex situations
- BS/BA degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics or related degree
- Higher education experience
