Forklift OperatorThe Forklift Operator safely and efficiently loads and unloads products and hardscape materials using a sit-down forklift, supporting both company trucks and customer vehicles. This is a customer-facing position that requires delivering friendly, professional service to maintain strong customer relationships. In addition to operating the forklift, the role involves hand-loading customer vehicles when needed, maintaining the yard, managing inventory, breaking down pallets, and handling shipping and receiving documentation.ResponsibilitiesOperate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to load and unload products and hardscape materials.Load company trucks and customer vehicles with products, ensuring accuracy and secure placement.Provide courteous, professional customer service in a customer-facing environment.Hand-load customer vehicles with materials as needed, including lifting up to 80 pounds regularly.Maintain the yard in a clean, organized, and safe condition.Assist with inventory management, including counting, organizing, and tracking materials.Break down pallets and prepare materials for storage or shipment.Handle shipping and receiving documentation accurately and promptly.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials.Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing loading, unloading, and yard duties.Essential SkillsProven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a material handling or similar environment.Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers.Ability to regularly lift up to 80 pounds into customer vehicles and handle heavy materials safely.Physical capacity to lift 80+ pounds on an occasional basis, stand on your feet for most of the day, and perform bending, twisting, and lifting as essential functions of the role.Ability to accurately complete shipping and receiving documentation and follow established procedures.Commitment to working safely and following all safety guidelines and best practices.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience with masonry products, stone, and/or construction practices is a plus.Similar or related work experience in the building materials industry is preferred.Ability to work effectively in an outdoor yard environment and adapt to changing weather conditions.Attention to detail when loading materials and managing inventory.Reliability and strong work ethic, with willingness to assist in yard maintenance and related tasks.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a supportive environment that recognizes hard work with opportunities for overtime during summer hours and a comprehensive benefits package upon full-time hire. The environment is focused on safety and efficiency, with daily use of sit-down forklifts and material handling equipment to move masonry and hardscape products in a busy yard setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellevue, WA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
