Job PostingWork Environment:This position is based full-time at the Shelbyville, IN manufacturing facility, with regular presence required on the production floor across all shifts, including periodic off-shift, weekend, and holiday coverage to support a 24/7 operation. The plant environment includes exposure to manufacturing conditions typical of automotive glass processing, including heat (tempering/furnace areas), noise, glass handling, forklift and overhead crane traffic, and use of personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant gloves, steel-toed footwear) in designated areas. The role requires the physical ability to walk, stand, and move throughout the facility for extended periods, climb stairs/platforms, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. This strong, supportive culture drives progress and reinforces our position as a global leader in glass.Essential Functions:Provide and support a safe working environment for all employees in Shelbyville.Provide and support safe, reliable, ergonomic systems and machines.High level knowledge and support of Automated manufacturing systems, to include PLC's, PC's, Servo's, Robots, HMI's, AC/DC Drives.Ensure equipment and layouts are compliant with current OSHA and RIA guidelines, local and national electrical codes.Write detailed technical specifications for projects, equipment, and processes.Resource management and support for maintenance personnel and vendorsSystem/Project design, costing and implementation from concept to completion to include capital improvement programsCoordinate all project controls/electrical activities to ensure that project timing, quality, and cost targets are attained.Supervise and/or direct contractors, suppliers, or other technical people as required.Perform hands-on programming/debug/troubleshooting of numerous types of automation equipment.Conduct equipment training for plant or other personnel as required.Act at times as overall project manager on highly automated/high controls-content projects.Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and PrinciplesOther duties as assigned by managerTop 3 Competencies Needed for Success in the Role:Passion for Excellence – Taking responsibility and ownership for achieving results and objectives while demonstrating a sense of urgency, drive and personal commitment.Innovation & Change – Open to change and actively interested in new developments, technology and emerging market trends while inspiring and generating innovative ideas and solution to enhance business results.Influential - Conveys information and ideas to others while building rapport and making a positive and credible impact thru active listening skills and taking interest in the views and ideas of others and ensures proposals address others' needs and priorities.Qualifications Required:Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology degreeCAD drawing capabilities – AutoCADPLC Programming and Troubleshooting3 - 5 years Electrical Engineering Experience in Manufacturing environmentQualifications Desired:Robotics Programming and troubleshooting – ABB and FanucCAD drawing capabilities – AutoCAD and EplanCode understanding to include NEC, NFPA70 and OSHAStrong interpersonal and communication skills.PLC programming and troubleshooting – Allen Bradley and Texas InstrumentsMotion Control programming and troubleshootingProblem Solving skills, motors & controls, and strong computer and network skills.Salary Range depending on experience - $100,000-$125,000 annuallyCore Hours: Day Shift hours - flexible AM start time - Monday/FridayWe offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, paid vacations, and education assistanceNSG Group/Pilkington is an equal opportunity employer; M/F/D/V encouraged to apply.
