Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Office Chief, Office of Statewide Material Management and Acquisitions, a Supervisor II, the Procurement Branch Chief plans, organizes, directs, and oversees the procurement and contracting activities for the Headquarters Maintenance Warehouse. The incumbent leads a team analysts responsible for acquiring non-IT and IT goods and services, developing and managing solicitations, creating scopes of work for HQ Warehouse facility contracts, and ensuring compliance with Caltrans policies and applicable state laws and regulations. The incumbent also oversees vendor compliance, and invoice processing, drives process improvement and policy development, analyzes and reports data, engages stakeholders and provides customer service to internal and external stakeholders, develops staff and manages performance.

Working Conditions

Position located at 1900 Royal Oaks Dr Sacramento, Sacramento County.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Special Requirements

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required to be considered for this position. The SOQ should be double-spaced, size 12 Century Gothic font, and no longer than two pages in length.
