Position pays $28.25/hr! As a Behavior Interventionist at Devereux, you will collaborate with others who share your passion to help adults in need in the Ventura County area. Duties The primary function of the Behavior Interventionist is to reduce problem behaviors while teaching functionally equivalent replacement behaviors. Implement the behavior plans of each individual, respond with appropriate proactive and reactive strategies to reduce problem behaviors, and support with conducting assessments and D-PBIS. Provide direction, training and mentorship to family members and staff relative to behavioral strategies and implementation of individual behavior programs. Work under the direction of a BCBA and receive ongoing training and supervision. Hours vary based on client needs; typical schedules are 9am-6:30pm or 12pm-8:30pm. Monday-Friday are usual, with occasional weekend availability. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. Initial training and clients may be based in Santa Barbara/Goleta; candidates must be able to work in the area as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, social work, human services, education, or related field. Education: Twelve (12) semester units in applied behavior analysis plus one year of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification interventions, or two (2) years of experience in such services. Experience: 1–2 years designing/implementing behavior modification intervention services. Physical Requirements Pass Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) training, including initial training during orientation and subsequent re-certifications. Significant and frequent walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and standing. Frequent use of computers and office equipment. Frequent outdoor activities with exposure to sunlight and potential inclement weather. Annual TB test every 12 months to show evidence of being free from infectious pulmonary tuberculosis.
