Position Overview: A Design Estimator II at Pref-Tech is responsible for supporting the rest of the Sales team members in the construction of estimates for assigned projects based on Preferred Technologies estimation standards. These are individuals with 3+ years of estimating experience or field work within the Security Integration industry. A DE II individual will be dedicated to any number of Pref-Tech’s Preferred Partner accounts, and during their time as a DE II, will be responsible for estimating projects large in scale, scope, and complexity. The DE II also mentors for DE I personnel. The DE II is required to become a Subject Matter Expert in any Security Integration area of knowledge in order to become a Trusted Advisor in those subjects. Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage and assume accountability for assigned sales projects and sales tasks. Meet regularly with Sales Team Members and Project Managers to determine and prioritize the company’s design estimation needs. Be able to present designs to Sales Team Members, Operations, and to the end user as needed Go on site visits to determine customer needs, with or without Sales Team Members. Enter high security areas which may require immediate background checks. Continuously develop sales & design skills & certifications. Required Qualifications: Experience in security integration industry required High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Ability to review and interpret blueprints Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Experience and confidence with public speaking and presenting to audiences Ability to hold others accountable to completing their assigned tasks, even if they hold positions of greater responsibility Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills Capacity to work independently and collaboratively Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy Hold Genetec, Hanwha, DMP/Bosch and Axis certifications within 6 months of hire (company provided) Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Experience with AutoCAD/Bluebeam (Revu) Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools Benefits: Competitive Salary Inclusion in Operational Incentive Program, which shares excess profits as bonuses 401K Safe Harbor Plan with matching dollar-for-dollar up to 4% of annual gross salary (Traditional and Roth options available) Health, dental, vision and other elective insurances Work Hours: Standard workdays and times are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. About 70% of the time Design Estimator work can be done remotely. The remaining 30% will include in-person activities such as meetings, networking events, etc. Some travel will be required. Physical Requirement: This position is primarily computer-based and requires the ability to sit for extended periods, operate a computer and standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in person and electronically.
