FVSEC is a 24/7/365 emergency and critical care facility with a family of board-certified specialists and experienced technical staff. The hospital works closely with referring veterinarians to provide a team-based approach to patient care and is the only approved Emergency and Critical Care Resident Training Facility in the Central Valley , creating an excellent environment for teaching, mentorship, and professional growth.

The hospital's specialty team includes Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Dentistry, and Emergency & Critical Care, providing opportunities for meaningful collaboration and comprehensive case management.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Manage high-acuity emergency and ICU patients, including triage, stabilization, and ongoing critical care
• Lead or participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to protocol development
• Perform advanced therapies based on available equipment, including mechanical ventilation and high-flow oxygen
• Collaborate closely with emergency clinicians, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, and other specialty teams on complex cases
• Utilize advanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities including CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and advanced patient monitoring
• Support the education and development of emergency clinicians, technicians, residents, and students
• Contribute to the continued growth of the hospital's Emergency and Critical Care service
• Engage in ongoing CE, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations

FVSEC's 8,000+ square-foot facility includes dedicated treatment space for critical and emergency patients, oxygen-equipped patient runs, and equipment designed to support advanced critical care. Available technology includes CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, long-term ventilation, endoscopy and bronchoscopy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and in-house laboratory capabilities.
What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure
• Board Certification in Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC)
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
• A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine
• An interest in teaching, mentorship, and contributing to the development of future ECC clinicians
