FVSEC is a 24/7/365 emergency and critical care facility with a family of board-certified specialists and experienced technical staff. The hospital works closely with referring veterinarians to provide a team-based approach to patient care and is the only approved Emergency and Critical Care Resident Training Facility in the Central Valley , creating an excellent environment for teaching, mentorship, and professional growth. The hospital's specialty team includes Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Dentistry, and Emergency & Critical Care, providing opportunities for meaningful collaboration and comprehensive case management.

- Manage high-acuity emergency and ICU patients, including triage, stabilization, and ongoing critical care
- Lead or participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to protocol development
- Perform advanced therapies based on available equipment, including mechanical ventilation and high-flow oxygen
- Collaborate closely with emergency clinicians, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, and other specialty teams on complex cases
- Utilize advanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities including CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and advanced patient monitoring
- Support the education and development of emergency clinicians, technicians, residents, and students
- Contribute to the continued growth of the hospital's Emergency and Critical Care service
- Engage in ongoing CE, mentorship, and professional development opportunities
- Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for California veterinary licensure
- Board Certification in Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC)
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach

- A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine
- An interest in teaching, mentorship, and contributing to the development of future ECC clinicians
