Principal R&D Engineer

Principal R&D Engineer leading the design and development of complex electro-mechanical medical devices for peripheral vascular applications. This role involves directing system architecture decisions, advanced prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration to translate clinical needs into innovative product solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and evaluation of complex electro-mechanical systems and platform architectures
- Guide electrical, mechanical, and integrated system design decisions balancing performance and manufacturability
- Direct advanced prototyping, testing, and resolution of complex technical challenges using data-driven analysis
- Partner with clinical stakeholders to translate customer insights into innovative product solutions
- Drive innovation through patent development and evaluation of emerging technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline
- Minimum eight years of product development engineering experience
- Proven expertise designing and optimizing complex electrical and electro-mechanical systems
- Experience translating user needs into technical requirements and system architectures
- Strong understanding of system integration, verification, validation, and engineering methodologies
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing cross-functional technical teams
- Proficiency with engineering design, analysis, modeling, and testing tools
Compensation: $135,700 - $226,200 USD Annual
