Diagnostic Ultrasonographer

Under the direction of the Ultrasound Supervisor and/or radiologist, performs a variety of ultrasound procedures, including invasive procedures. The employee will also perform other department job duties as assigned.

Education: Required: ARDMS (compliant with all continuing education mandates) or A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program. Reference: an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS or Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS or Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with on-the-job training in diagnostic ultrasound and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS. Preferred: N/A

Experience: Required: Medical and/or hospital clinical experience required basic computer experience required (1-2 years work experience or college level classes) Preferred: One year prior hospital experience in ultrasound preferred.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration Required: One of the following: 1) ARRT and ARDMS registered 2) ARDMS registered 3) ARDMS registry eligible (certification within two years) BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward. Preferred: N/A
